Linda Cassidy is a painter and visual artist. She was educated at Bard College and Stony Brook University, and lived in the Hamptons in the late 70’s and 80s where she was strongly influenced by the 2nd generation New York School painters in the area.
She’s drawn to color harmonics and the rhythmic possibilities of line. Landscape and natural forms have always provided a generative center for her, as her explorations are predominantly spurred by the shifting visual interactions we have in the natural world. The internal resonance of those interactions come to form in her studio.
Cassidy currently lives and works in the Hudson Valley where she continues to experiment with processual art-making in the forms of paintings on canvas, monotypes on paper, and digital compositions drawn from photographs of in-progress paintings.
Her work can be found in private collections throughout the US and Europe.
